In collaboration with the Tea Leaf Trust, Teardrop launched a free three-month introductory course in hospitality, designed to educate the students on the prospects of a career in hospitality. The course covers the functions of all departments of a hotel and is conducted by Teardrop’s senior management. In February 2024, we handed out completion certificates to 30 students, and offered three women paid internship positions at Camellia Hills, Nine Skies and Goatfell.
Teardrop sponsored two workshops for 47 teachers of the Tea Leaf Trust, in partnership with Shobana Cook. The workshops were themed around Self-care for Leaders, and was rooted in Eastern philosophy, Ayurvedic principles, and yoga-based practices in self-care and stress management. Over the course of the two workshops, each participant gained practical tools and techniques to prioritise self-care and cultivate resilience, ensuring they can continue their vital work with underserved youth in the tea country, with renewed energy, balance, and well-being.
In partnership with Women in Tech, we donated 5 memberships for www.4books.com to the Tea Leaf Trust, providing each centre with access to the digital library. This collaboration also grants access to over 25 soft skills training modules, covering areas like Personal Growth, Money Management, Psychology, Problem Solving, Productivity, Stress Management, World Awareness, Project Management, Self-Care, and Public Speaking.
