The Teardrop Care Foundation successfully raised funds through its Christmas Wishtree project to provide essential school supplies for the children of the Volunteers to Assist Children with Disabilities (VACD) Center. This heartwarming initiative encouraged generous donors to fulfill children's holiday wishes by contributing towards books, stationery, backpacks, and other educational materials. Through the collective support of the community, the project ensured that these children started their academic year equipped with the necessary resources to thrive in their education.
The Teardrop CARE Foundation introduced an Arts and Craft workshop for children attending the center with the aim of encouraging self-expression and skill development through hands-on activities. Beyond creativity, the workshops promoted relaxation, social interaction, and personal growth. The CARE Foundation also launched a home garden initiative at the center, which will be managed by the parents of children attending the center. This project aims to provide families with a sustainable source of fresh produce, which they can while also fostering community engagement and self-sufficiency. By assisting in the development of these gardens, VACD is empowering parents with valuable skills in gardening and sustainable agriculture, ultimately improving nutrition, food security and a steady source of income for their families.
Last Christmas, Teardrop Hotels set up a Wish Tree initiative across our hotels with the aim of raising funds for underserved children and their families in the communities we operate in. Through generous donations from guests and staff over the holiday season, we raised funds towards thoughtful hampers for the VACD beneficiaries.
