This experience fluidly combines some of the most interesting, yet unknown, sides of Colombo and it takes place part on foot and part by tuk-tuk, one of the most common ways to get around in the city. Colombo is a densely packed metropolis with influences, both local and colonial. The tour focuses on the economic, colonial, cultural and religious history of Colombo.
This tour includes a visit to Sivan Kovil in Colombo for the ‘pooja’, Red Mosque in Pettah, and the Sambodhi Chaithya Temple by the Colombo port and a blessing from Kochchikade or Infant Jesus Church.
The host is of Sinhalese and Dutch Burgher origin with a keen passion for history and the preservation of architectural monuments in these areas. His unique background and outlook makes him an ideal host that represents his city.
