At Teardrop, we take cricket pretty seriously! We recently concluded our 2nd Teardrop Cricket Sixes Tournament on Tuesday, 17th October, in which Camellia Hills, Nine Skies, Goatfell, Fort Bazaar, Wallawwa, Lunuganga, Kumu Beach, Monsoon and our team at HQ participated. Despite the rains, it was a great day of cricket with big hitting, and some exceptional fielding and bowling across all teams.
The Runners Up award went to Team Wallawwa, while Team HQ were awarded Winners.
Other notable awards:
• Best Batsman- Indika Dayarathna (Wallawwa)
• Best Bowler – Menaka Kulatunga (Captain, Team HQ)
• Man of the Series – Mevantha De Silva (Vice Captain, Team HQ)
The Fort Bazaar team got together for festive Avurudu games. It was a day filled with plenty of laughter and friendly competition, as the team took a break from their daily routine and enjoyed the spirit of team camaraderie. We had a round of thrilling games, and exciting surprises, with plenty of tasty New Year treats to celebrate with.
We marked International Women’s Day by inviting the whole office to an inspirational talk delivered by mountaineer and women’s rights activist Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala, the first Sri Lankan to summit Mount Everest. The discussion was followed by light games and high tea at Teardrop Island’s HQ.
