BAWA'S ICONIC COUNTRY-HOUSE

Lunuganga is temporarily closed for kitchen renovations as we make thoughtful improvements to serve our guests better. We look forward to welcoming you back from 25 October 2026. Our daily scheduled garden tours will continue as usual, with no disruption, and No. 5 Lunuganga (Ena House) remains open for bookings.

This soulful artist’s retreat, set along a riverbank in Bentota, features 10 distinctive rooms and suites, each a world apart from the other, and a stunning infinity pool with incredible lake views. Stay here and experience Bawa’s vision, pausing to admire thoughtfully crafted architectural flourishes, leaf-framed lake vistas, and 15-acres of tropical gardens created over a period of 40 years.

No. 5 is an iconic masterpiece of Sri Lankan design and architecture. Built in 1962 by Geoffrey Bawa for renowned batik artist Ena de Silva, this 3-bedroom villa seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces.
