Birdwatching
The garden at Goatfell is inhabited by over 20 species of birds. Please refer to the ‘Common and Notable Birds’ book found in your room for more information on our little feathered friends. If you’d like to explore beyond the surrounds of Goatfell, a large collection of resident, endemic and migrant birds can be seen at Victoria Park, Galway’s Land National Park and Horton Plains National Park. Galway’s Land National Park is a particularly well-known site for bird watching, home to 15 migrant birds and 30 native species, some of which are endemic to Sri Lanka.
