The closest tea plantation in the world to the sea
Just 30 minutes from Fort Bazaar, the Handunugoda Tea Estate is one of the world’s closest tea plantations to the sea. Best known for its rare and luxurious Virgin White Tea, the estate follows an ancient Chinese ritual where the leaves are plucked without direct human touch.
This meticulous process produces one of the most expensive teas in the world, valued at over USD 1,500 per kilo. A guided tour includes a walk through the estate, a visit to the tea factory, and a tasting session. You’ll also enjoy a cup of tea and homemade cake at the estate house, surrounded by lush greenery.
