Sri Lanka’s fuel situation has notably improved in recent weeks, with supply stabilising. The Sri Lankan Government has increased fuel quotas across multiple vehicle categories under the QR system, providing greater flexibility and reducing pressure on fuel stations. Crucially, tourism continues to be given priority: hotels, transport providers, and tour operators receive enhanced (often double) fuel quotas, while dedicated QR systems and directives allow tourists and registered drivers to bypass queues entirely, ensuring seamless travel across the island.
