Our goal is to integrate sustainability across our operations, creating long-term value for our people, community, environment and business.
A glance at our gardens will show you just how committed we are to growing our own produce. We grow many varieties of fruit, vegetables and herbs on site for the hotel in an initiative to reduce our food miles.
Restoration & Transformation
Nine Skies was lovingly restored from a centuries-old planter’s bungalow.
Homegrown & Plastic-free
We grow most of our vegetables and buy meat and seafood from the local markets.
Supporting our Community
We support the communities in which we are based through various community service projects.
Surplus produce is donated to families in our community and throughout the year, we have ongoing projects that help protect biodiversity like the planting of Kumbuk trees along a section of the Badulla Oya riverbank, to mitigate soil erosion.
Like each of our other sister hotels, Nine Skies practises zero plastic, on-site composting and effective waste management to reduce landfills.
