Private Waterfall and Picnic Tour

We cannot rate this excursion highly enough. ‘Haputale Mountain Tours’ is an Eco tour agency offering amazing experiences that explore the hidden gems of the epic Haputale mountain range and its endless views. One such activity is trek to a waterfall in a private estate that you can experience all to yourself. The tour starts in the morning and your guide will pick you up in a safari jeep. The drive to the estate takes approximately 1.5 hours and allows you to take in all the magnificent hill country views from the back of your jeep.

Your guide will point out any special attractions along the way. Once you’re at the estate, you will begin a short trek on a downhill path into the jungle, crossing a stream, and moving through the forest until you reach your destination. The last stretch of the trek can be challenging at times, with narrow pathways and steep slopes, therefore, we recommend taking extra caution with children.

The waterfall is breath-taking, and the setting is like a scene from a movie. While the team prepares hot tea, bites, and lunch (most of which is made there), your guide will lead you to the secluded waterfall and natural pool. You can swim, jump off a large rock, or simply sit still and admire the wonderful surroundings – but most importantly, you get to have it all to yourself! Once you’re tired out, you can head back to where the team is and be treated to hot-hot rotis with some delicious Sri Lankan curries and condiments. This is a truly magical experience for families, friends, or couples, and one of the few places where you can enjoy a waterfall in total privacy. The only downfall of this excursion is the drive times, but if you have half a day to spare, this experience is worth every penny.
