Women’s Economic Initiative (WE Care)
We support five women residing in the Upper Dunkeld Division, assisting them in their house garden projects as part of our first phase of the 2023 WE CARE Initiative. On Women’s Day, we provided each of them with 50 grow bags of chili plants (scotch bonnet) along with various other seeds, gardening tools and organic fertiliser requested by them to get their house gardens up and running.
In phase two, we will provide additional herb seeds/grow bags after three months, so they can grow necessary herbs to fulfil Teardrop’s requirement, which we will purchase at market price. We will also expand our WE CARE Initiative to other communities around our hill country properties, creating a circular based, women-led form of agriculture.
