Suite 01
Wallawwa’s Mountbatten Suite
An indulgent and generous suite, complete with a private walled garden and plunge pool Recently hailed as possibly the best airport hotel in the world, Wallawwa is “the OG in Dutch colonial chic” to quote Singapore Editor of Wallpaper* Daven Wu. In his review, ‘Why Wallawwa in Colombo is possibly the best airport hotel in the world’, Wu explains: “the central building was originally the home of Nicholas Dias-Abeyesinghe, the area’s head chieftain under the Dutch in the 18th-century. The original rooms have since been converted into a library and sitting room, furnished with comfy sofas and books, lazily twirling ceiling fans, rattan furniture and hessian rugs.”
With 18 beautiful rooms and suites, the cherry on top of Wallawwa’s accommodation offering is the two-bedroom Mountbatten Suite, which is as generous as a private villa, boasting a sitting room and a private garden with plunge pool. The master bedroom has a grand four-poster garden-facing bed and an ensuite bathroom with rain shower and freestanding bathtub, and its open plan design incorporates a sofa-furnished lounge. The second bedroom – furnished with queen-sized twin beds – also has its own shower room. The suite is equipped with walk-through wardrobes, cable television, retro phone, and mini bar. The celebrated architect’s former master suite, now open for stays.
The Geoffrey Bawa Suite is the original room occupied by Geoffrey Bawa at Lunuganga Estate, a jewel in its crown of 10 very individual and unique suites. Located in the main house, The Geoffrey Bawa Suite now offers the novelty of gaining an insight into a previously closed off part of the renowned architect’s life and remains close to its original condition with very minimal changes to the space besides the installation of an air-conditioner and an upgrade of bathroom fixtures. Bawa’s former suite is furnished with a king-sized bed, modern-day amenities, and a spacious living area adorned with a rare collection of original artworks, and a part of his personal library.

The Suite opens out to a charming, private courtyard with a sitting area, while the on-suite bathroom connects to an outdoor, tropical plunge pool.

Kumu’s Oceanview Suites
Private and exclusive with direct garden access or balconies with beautiful views of the Indian Ocean
The ultimate tropical boutique beach hotel, Kumu Beach’s collection of 4 Oceanview Suites are the most luxurious accommodations in Balapitiya, and a haven to return to after a day of exploring the south’s hidden gems. Named to evoke its trade merchant history, Fort Bazaar’s collection of 18 rooms and suites in the heart of UNESCO Galle Fort are designed to be quiet and elegant spaces. Located on the lofty first floor of the original building, the light-bathed Upper Suite is its most decadent chamber; very private and indulgently spacious, it features a soaring ceiling, Balinese four-poster king size bed, a freestanding bathtub, separate dressing area, fort-view terraces, and sofas to flop on after hot explorations of Galle.

Nine Skies, Ella Rock Suite

Ideally located for a hill’s exploration, tea estate hikes and ziplining, Nine Skies breathes an almost different air, with sweeping views of our gardens and the Ella range. Its cosy interiors are a mix of wood, stone, period furnishings and custom-designed fittings, and of the bungalow’s 5-suites, Ella Rock Suite promises privacy, indulgence, and nostalgia with a light-bathed open plan layout and French windows affording exotic garden views.

Furnished with a king-sized bed and plush sofas in a separate sitting area, it has a private garden terrace and an ensuite bathroom with rain shower and bathtub. It’s the perfect accommodation in Ella for a family as the sitting room can be converted into a kids’ bedroom.
